Is there away to program avrcp controls or do they even work?

AVRCP controls have not yet been implemented. This feature is not yet available on all phones.
Also, there is issue in using the steering wheel controls which are already being used for other radio controls.

We are open to suggests as to what features / buttons you would like to see for this. The hardware does already support AVRCP.
