I am getting prepared to install bluestar 2010. I think I found the onstar vcim behind the glove box. I pulled the black connecter plug and am confused what to do next. It does not seem to match the wiring in the instructions or I am not understanding what I need to do. I have attached pictures of what I think is the onstar vcim, and the connecter both front and back. If someone could provide further instruction with my wire connections I would be very thankful. Also does costar make software for mac os x operating system or do I need to find a friends pc to update my bluestar? I ordered my bluestar this week will it come with the most update software or will it need to be updated?

Thank you for any help,

I think that is the XM box.
The ontar module is located behind the HVAC unit in the center console.

Units are always shipped with the latest released code, and unfortunately, the CoSTAR Programming Utility is Windows based only

Thank you so much for your help. I guess I thought it was going to be a walk in the park being right behind the glove box. I will post pictures of the actual unit in its real location when I dive into next weekend so all those interested can see where it is located. Please keep your fingers crossed that it will be an easy job.

Okay, as promised I said I would post install instructions and photos for others who may be interested. The install went great everything is working as it should. I can't really give an exact time for how long this install would take for I was BBQ dinner at the same time. My guess would be 20 to 40 minutes. First thing you need to do is take pop off the dash panels that are around the radio, glove box, and center console cup holder.

The panels pop off they are clipped in I started with the one above the glove box. Use a screw driver to help pry it up then grab it with your fingers and gently work around popping out the clips. After you get the glove box panel I popped the panel and cup holder from the dash it is linked in with the center dash one so it won't come all the way out. Then grab the canter panel from the access you you made by popping out the glove box one and pop them all out don't forget to disconnect the cig lighter.

Just so you know you will not believe how much junk and crumbs are underneath the cup holders. I took this opportunity to clean it up.

oh don't forget the center panel has two plugs that need to be disconnected to remove them. Now that I have all the panels removed I unscrewed the two electronic boards below the radio which are the a/c control and rear washer button. Be sure to disconnect them and set aside. All the screws are 9/32. Remove the screws around the radio and disconnect cables there are 6 screws a think.
