major problems with bluestar 2010 in 2005 yukon denali

Postby official_style » September 6th, 2011, 9:52 pm

installed the module in my 2005 yukon denali which has bose and factory nav. paired up worked ok it seemed. first time using it on the road today, randomly the car will display "stability system disabled" and have the mark thru the TC indicating traction control is off. pushing the button on the dash that normally turns this on and of does nothing, have to restart the car. also, the unit will get stuck a lot with the solid red light on the mirror. then towards the end of the day it just wouldnt pair. i tried repairing like 3 times, turned phone off etc. all wires and the 2 antennas to my onstar box are disconnected. what is the problem i thought this thing had good reviews? i am ready to remove it and get something else for bluetooth if this cannont be figured out. unit has newest software i just bought it.

Not to stick up for Mr. Costar....but it sounds like you are just having issues w/ your particular vehicle. The product really does work, when updates are installed properly. Have you tried unplugging the unit to power cycle it ? Sometimes that is all it takes. (not sure how easy it is for you to do this...just my two cents)

He is usually pretty quick on the responses as well. You may just need to tweek your settings. I'd wait to hear back from him. Seriouslly....they did have a hurricane/tropical storm in his neck of the woods. I'm sure he will get back to you as soon as he can.

I have power cycled it. I live in NYC which is right near long island. I called galaxy 1000 who actually has a phone number listed for their contact info, and they told me there module would not work with the other stuff I have installed, and most likely the bluestar won't either.

it really should say on the site not compatible if u have any other modules to interface with the stock system on the product page. ie aftermarket alarm backup cam aux input etc.

Unplugged and replugged in the module. Made one call which worked fine. Then the lock symbol security light came on on the gauge console. All gauges died for a second came back on and it said stability/traction disabled. The button to turn this back on will not work had to power cycle the car. STILL no response from the owner of this company on the forum or thru emails.

Dude, you have some serious anger management issues. I recommend you see a therapist about this. It's really not healthy.

Fact is, the bluestar has been successfully installed in thousands of vehicles over the last few years. I'm sorry it did not work in your application, but we cannot guarantee operation with every piece of aftermarket equipment ever sold. It's just not possible.

This forum is primarily for users to talk about their experience so it is not closely monitored. We do however try to answer all emails within 24 hours. If you have not received a response yet, most likely you sent it to the wrong address or it got spammed. So take a deep breath, and send an email to tech support (that's techsupport@costartech.com ) and we will gladly issue an RMA for you to return the unit for full credit.

We are committed to standing behind the product and our customers (yes, even the grumpy ones, such as yourself) and will do our best to make you happy (not that it will be possible in this case).

And thanks to scruff24 for watching my back. We were out of power for 6 days here from the storm!

No problem Mr. Costar....sorry to hear about official style's issues. Didn't realize he had aftermarket stuff installed...but still yet....you have been accomodating to most people on the site here. And....without you and your product....I would not have the bluetooth connectivity that my car dealer sold me on....yet couldn't deliver on unless I wanted my vehicle torn apart and rewired for something....that already exists in it. (Cars w/ Onstar...have the microphones/speakers already wired) it is just either subscribe to their service for alot of $$$ to them. When your cell phone works the same (when paired w/ Bluestar)..and a lot less money over time. Your product is updated so that your customer is not forgotten after the sale. (It's like an investment that increases w/ value w/ each update that you have worked on...yet are not charged for). Worth my $279 and the piece of mind that all I had to do was unplug my Onstar and plug your unit in...and mount it in the trunk.

I realize all cars are not as accesible as my G8's Onstar system.... Hope you find the solution official style. I know there is a mirror of some sort at Best Buy...but it is a bit costly...and you have to subscribe to Onstar as well.
