Looks like some users are having success by upgrading the iPhone5 software to ios 6.1 (Current version is 6.0.1)
It's only available in Beta version now, but from what I am reading is pretty solid beta. It should be available from Apple "soon".

I have an iphone 3Gs and have the same issue, call comes in on bluestar and as soon as I push the answer button it drops the call and radio comes back on. I am in Canada with Rogers as my provider.

Chris, I'm posting this for others to troubleshoot (might as well hop on the bandwagon).

I have an iphone 5. I have 6.0.1. I don't really know how to get a "beta" version.

Carrier is AT&T. Car is a 2008 Cadillac XLR-V

I've got a brand new bluestar 2010. I'm assuming they get shipped with the newest firmware.

I have no problems with my iPhone 4, iPhone4s and IPhone 5 running on IOS 5 & IOS 6. My Carrer is AT&T. I am driving a 2009 Chevy Equinox. My bluestar 2010 unit had an old beta firmware on it and I pluger it into my computer updated it with no problems. Mine works great. I can't wait for the new device that will do wireless streaming with my XM radio.

I am having the same problem with my iphone 5-- requires manual connection to my Bluestar 2010 in my '07 Tahoe (although my 4s was connecting automatically almost every time with few problems.)
Do we need to somehow delete all previous phones from memory? I am hearing that on other troubleshooting forums for the iphone 5... how would you do that with a Bluestar 2010? I don't want to have to pull this out of my Tahoe-- it requires removing the dash.

you can remove old phones by pressing red mirror button for 10 second.
Then re-pair your new phone and it will try to connect to that first as the bluestar tries to link to phones in the order in which they are paired.

The iphone5 issue seems to be incoming calls are dropped. It does not seem to have an issue with automatic linking.

I'm having the incoming call issue. Phone pairs fine, but incoming calls drop from bluetooth and the stereo comes back on, but the Bluestar still thinks it's connected (the mirror light is red). Also if I am already on a call and get into the car and turn it on it will connect but is very distorted. I'm on the latest firmware posted and have erased all previous phone pairings.

I get the same problem using a Samsung Captivate running Android 4.1.2. Making a call is fine. But when I answer an incoming call, I get no sound in the car. The caller hears me fine but I can't hear them. I downgraded the firmware to 11-0401 to test and the calls worked fine. Upgraded back to 12-0718 and sound stops on incoming calls. I also noticed that the call I'd doesn't show up on the dic with name. On occasion it shows the number but most of the time it's blank. I don think this is an IPhone issue only.

OK, the 10 seconds of the red button worked great to get my phone pairing again. It pairs consistently now.

However, now I'm getting the problem where hitting the answer button on my steering wheel causes the phone to disconnect but Bluestar to think it is still connected, as posted above. Carrier is AT&T, vehicle is 2007 Tahoe.

Yeah, that's not the same. When I answer with the iphone 5 it disconnects and nobody hears anything.
