2008 Sliverado

Hi everyone, new guy to the forum with questions.
I have a '08 Chevy Silverado with XM stereo and no nav.
I saw a you tube video on the installation where the guy had to remove the On-Star module. If I do this will I lose the XM radio?
It looked like he disconnected an antenna wire and left it off.
If I keep the module where does the Bluestar 2010 fit?
Thanks, Gary

I added a couple of links to the you tube videos in referance...
The install I'm refering to above.

This one is about I-simple, I don't know what that is?

I own a 2007 NNBS Avalanche, have XM, no Nav and have had this unit installed for about 4 years now. My unit was once ziptied to the brackets where the Onstar unit came from. You have to take out the entire OnStar unit and replace it with the Blue Star. If you leave the wires unplugged from the Onstar unit you will get a lot of warnings in your DIC such as traction control and ABS lights. Once you plug these into the Bluestar the warning lights go away and all is good. XM is a separate unit found behind the passenger side dash. XM is not affected by the use of BlueStar. The antenna wire is the Satellite link used for Onstar. It is not used anymore since you won't have Onstar. Hope this helps.

Well, after I posted this question I looked around the forums a little more and found the "Vehicle Installations" board.
Very helpful and I learned a couple tips that may help others.
I posted them here...
