Installation Fine But No Sound

Installation Fine But No Sound

Postby ginser » May 15th, 2013, 8:14 pm

I had Bluestar 2010 professional installed in a 2007 Escalade ESV and when I make calls they can hear me on the other end but nothing comes through my speakers. I installed the computer app and upgraded to the latest firmware and still nothing. Is there an internal mute or a way to test that it is installed right as it doesn’t ring when I get calls either. I have the diagnostic text if that helps.

Thanks

Eric

Thanks for the suggestion but that didn't do anything either for me. Just did it with a laptop plugged in using the costar program.

I'm having the same issue with my 2005 Phaeton. Installed it beautifully in July/Aug of last year (with the latest firmware), worked perfectly with my Iphone5 for a while. Now i get no sound. Steering Wheel volume is all the way up. I've tried re-pairing but that didn't work. I've stopped short of unplugging and replugging the unit to reset it - would that help? Everything looks to be working otherwise - radio mutes with outgoing and incoming calls, Onstar lights blink, etc. I'm thinking as Ginser does that there's some type of internal mute that i activated accidentally.

Bluestar - don't fail me now! Any suggestions anyone?!

After installing on my 2008 Silverado I could barely hear the sound. I was very disappointed. This was even after following the directions to turn up the volume. I could see the volume display on the radio go up but I only had sound coming from my tweeters on the windshield column and I could only here that if I got very close. After further checking, I found that neither of my door speakers were working. I had previously noticed the sound coming on and off to the right, but didn't think much about it. The on star only uses the front speaker, so nothing came from the rear. I turned the fader from balanced to front only, and I had no sound. Then from left to right.
I replaced both door speakers, and now it works great. Actually better than expected. The incoming phone numbers are even displayed on my dash in the on board display.
Apparently the door speakers on the Silverados are a problem. The are a unique OEM speaker, but a 6.5" speaker works fine fastened right to the door.
