Do you loose onstar when you plug in bluestar?

Yes. Bluestar replaces onstar. You have to disconnect onstar cables and plug them into Bluestar.

That's correct. Bluestar is an alternative to onstar but no monthly fee. Bluestar is only designed to replace onstar with bluestar you can talk hands free and stream music.
