Hi Everyone,
We just uncovered a bug in version 13-0311 that could cause steering wheel controls to work only for the first few minutes after waking up from sleep mode. If you have this issue, please revert to 12-0718, or contact CoSTAR technical support for a new update that addresses this problem.

Also effected were the steering wheel controls in new Camaro, and Chevy Cruze.
CLASS2 vehicles should not have this issue.

Is 13-0311 newer or older then 12-0718?

Version is date coded.
year-monthday
so 13-0311 was created March 11, 2013 and is therefore newer than 12-0718 released in July of 2012.

Was looking on the main website and it does not show the new March 2013 FW. Where can I download the new FW and what changes/improves were made?

13-0311 was released for beta testing and for a small trial run. It was never posted to the website.
I will be posting soon 13-0417 which fixes the issue with 0311. Improvements are primarily for CLASS2 vehicles.
It does not add any new features, so if your current version is working well, there is no need to upgrade.

After several attempts with the new version it took uploading an older version to get my new Costar device to work. It works well now but would like to know if there is a way for me to stream my music from my IPhone 5 through the system without an aux cable

Was 13-0417 or later ever released?

I have a 2004 Bonneville GXP (class 2) and while I had great hopes for the BlueStar, I just gave up in frustration and replaced it with a Motorola Roadster II.

The BlueStar was just too unreliable and I got tired of pulling over, climbing in my trunk and unplugging the thing to reset it. It would flake out randomly where it would not connect via bluetooth or not release the radio after a call, think it was in a call when it wasn't, not connect audio so people could not hear me etc. etc.

mrcostar's comment about 13-0417 for class 2 vehicles is encouraging, but I am not holding my breath at this point. BlueStar is a great idea, but it seems (some vehicles with) class 2 is just not in the cards?

Have not been on in awhile because way too busy to mess with it. Is 13-0417 available? Don't see it on the website.

Now I have some time, thinking about flashing 12-0718. Never did get steering controls to work (unit shipped with 11-1005 which proved unstable, flashed to 10-1028 and using that ever since). Yellow LED problem (mostly on cold mornings) gone away, but only because Green LED non-functional now (wiring or burnt out?). Red works but no Green (and no strange Yellow).

All that to say, thinking of flashing 12-0718 to see if that gets steering wheel/radio volume knob controls to work. Also, upgrade from LG Optimus to Galaxy S3 means I no longer have ability to control volume from phone (making it all the more annoying). Ever since I upgraded my phone, volume has been extremely low. Even though the volume adjustment (using OnStar buttons while off call) have it maxed out.

A2DP streaming would be nice, but for now I will be happy with a stable release that makes volume controls (of any kind) work. DIC Caller ID would be nice too, but I didn't think that was on the cards for Class 2 vehicles?
