Bluestar freezes

Bluestar freezes

Postby Flyrite » July 18th, 2011, 3:50 pm

As stated in my previous posts, the bluestar freezes quite often. I find myself unplugging the unit from the car to reset it every 2 to 3 days. Despite my best efforts, I can find no pattern that causes the lockup.

In my quest to make the unit useable (I really love the idea of the unit), I connected the laptop to it yesterday to see what there was to see. The only thing I could find was the following. When the bluestar is hooked to the computer through the usb, and NOT hooked to the car, the software updates perfectly. On the "Status screen," the radio buttons change in time with LED on the unit, the phone status is reported properly, etc.

However, when connected to both the car and the USB, the "status screen" repsonds VERY slowly and often displays a message along the lines of "did not receive the data expected." When both are connected, it appears the connection is intermittent. Mr. Costar, just curious if this could be used as a diagnostic, or its normal.

Thanks for the help.

Mr. Costar suggested to me that maybe I should try downgrading the firmware in my device to hel;p solvce some of the radio muting and device freezing issues I have been experiencing. This weekend, I downgraded to version 1028 . So far (4-days), the device has auto connected perfectly, muted the radio properly, and has not frozen once. I'll report again once I have two weeks of testing time.

Flyrite, please send me a PM when you have tested a little longer. I constantly have the same thing happen, and when it happens, my security light comes on until the reset as well.
